Marmot Mountain Europe is proud to welcome three remarkable individuals to its athlete team: Thea Asp, Cruise Ferreira, and Philipp Hans. Each brings a distinct perspective, a deep connection to the outdoors, and a shared passion for pushing boundaries—making them a perfect fit for the Marmot ethos.

From ocean depths to alpine heights – Thea Asp lives for the wild unknown

Thea Asp is a marine biologist and multi-sport adventurer whose life is defined by exploration. From sailing tall ships across oceans to ski touring in remote mountain ranges and freediving beneath the surface, she thrives in the wild and at the edge of her comfort zone. Her commitment to conservation and her ability to find beauty in both the extreme and the everyday make her a powerful voice for nature and adventure.

Cruise Ferreira: Exploring the planet and protecting what matters

Cruise Ferreira grew up immersed in the natural world, splitting his early years between surfing in South Africa and joining his family on wildlife expeditions. A trained anti-poaching ranger and advanced animal tracker, Cruise has spent years living close to nature—from sailing across oceans to snowboarding in the most remote areas of the world. His adventurous spirit and dedication to conservation reflect a life lived fully and fearlessly.

Together, Thea and Cruise form a dynamic duo—sharing their wild journeys and inspiring others to explore and protect the natural world.

Climbing is just the beginning – for Philipp Hans, the real adventure starts on the way there.

Joining them is Philipp Hans, a seasoned climber and well-known figure in the European climbing community. He is a climber at heart and an adventurer by choice. After years of competing at the highest level, he found his true calling not just on the wall, but far beyond it—on remote expeditions, icy crossings, and first ascents in wild places. Inspired early on by Stefan Glowacz, Philipp now blends his technical climbing roots with a deep commitment to low-impact exploration. Whether by sail, snowkite, or bike, he’s always chasing the next challenge—with curiosity, creativity, and a rope in hand.

These three athletes embody Marmot’s commitment to adventure, resilience, and respect for the outdoors. Their stories are just beginning, and we’re excited to support them on every step of the journey.
